23日，《艾瑞克跑十九大》系列迎来了最后一期，我们的美籍记者艾瑞克把关注点转移到了过去五年来我国生态文明建设的工作进展上。

过去五年里，以习近平同志为核心的党中央把生态文明建设（ecological civilization）作为统筹推进“五位一体”总体布局和协调推进“四个全面”战略布局的重要内容，谋划开展了一系列富有基础性、开创性和长远性的工作。

✩ 统筹推进“五位一体”总体布局，即统筹推进经济建设、政治建设、文化建设、社会建设、生态文明建设五位一体（promote balanced economic, political, cultural, social, and ecological progress）。

✩ 协调推进“四个全面”战略布局（promote coordinated implementation of the Four-Pronged Comprehensive Strategy），即协调推进全面建成小康社会、全面深化改革、全面依法治国、全面从严治党（making comprehensive moves to finish building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, deepen reform, advance the law-based governance of China, and strengthen Party self-governance）。

十八大以来的五年，习近平总书记提出了一系列重要论述和批示，形成了中国绿色发展的思想指引（guiding philosophies of China's green development）。

比如：

“良好生态环境是最公平的公共产品，是最普惠的民生福祉。”

“A good ecological environment is the fairest public product and the most accessible welfare for the people.”

“绿水青山就是金山银山。”

“Lucid waters and lush mountains are as valuable as gold and silver.”

有着世界上面积最大人造林的河北塞罕坝

各地认真落实党中央、国务院部署，出台了一系列措施，向污染宣战。

Looking back, under the Party’s leadership, China has continued closing heavily polluting factories, advancing renewable energy and restoring environmentally damaged areas.

过去五年里，在党中央领导下，各级政府关停取缔重污染企业，推进可再生能源发展，推动生态环境修复。

地方政府每年也要接受环境保护绩效考核：

Local governments’ success in environmental protection is assessed annually and every five years. And progress has become a criterion for evaluating officials’ performance.

中央政府每年对地方政府进行环境保护绩效考核，五年届满后也将进行评估，考核结果将跟党政领导干部考核评估直接挂钩。

艾瑞克跟我们分享了一些可喜的数据：

Data from the Ministry of Environmental Protection showed, the average density of PM 2.5 — small air-pollution particles that are particularly dangerous to human health — has dropped by a third in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region since 2013.

环保部数据显示，2016年京津冀地区PM2.5平均浓度与2013年相比，下降30%以上。

环保部通报，总的来看，党的十八大以来的五年，是中国生态文明建设、生态环境保护力度最大、举措最实、推进最快、成效最好的时期。

The Ministry of Environmental Protection said the past five years in China has been the period with the strongest measures adopted in protecting the environment, the toughest reinforcement in the implementation, the fastest boost and the best performance in ecological conservation.
